Knitcrazy Distractions
So I have been knitting crazily for the past few months.  I’ve done lots of scarves, and swatches. However, recently I have been working on an awesome antler scarf (pictured below) for the past month.  Everything has been going swimmingly, I even memorized the pattern so I wouldn’t have to carry the book everywhere with me.  However since last week, I haven’t been able to knit an...

Tumblarity
So the goal here is to start using my Tumblr again.  I don’t think I’m going to keep it the same.  I think it will be mostly text posts about ridiculous things that enter my mind… so here’s hoping I keep it up.

Pirates' Families Vow to Avenge Their Loved-ones'...
Totally justifiable, I agree.  I mean lets consider this from your perspective shall we.  So your family members were just sitting there in their boat off the coast.  When they get the crazy idea to attack an American Flagged vessel.  And why shouldn’t they?  It’s an honest living.  It’s not like you’d be hurting anyone anyway.  The guns, RPG’s, and knives are really...

Tomorrow Megan McCain will publish an article about the Republican Party’s relationships with gays.  Presumably she will discuss what the relationship is now, and how she wishes it was.  Of all the Republicans ever invented, Megan McCain is my most favorite.  I don’t know that there’s enough evidence to say that conservative fiscal policy is bad.  I mean I’m not so sure the...

In this Easter season during which our largely Christian circles celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Christ; I find myself discovering new ways of considering these stories that have been told to me so often, they have all but lost their meaning. Indeed Easter can be a celebration of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, a celebration of gratitude for His suffering by proxy for our...

Spotlight on a Gay Politician: Stu Rasmussen
Stu Rasmussen was born in 1948.  Little is known about this man, as he is the mayor of a very small town in Oregon.  But what IS known about Stu, is what is remarkable.  Stu Rasmussen has the honor of being the first known transgendered mayor in the history of the United States. Having served in the city council of Silverton, and as it’s mayor previously.  Stu made waves when he returned to...

In Defense of Brittany Spears
This moment, even as I type this, one of my very hot, very gay Captains is at a Brit Brit concert at the Tacoma Dome.  Now I know that B. Spears is all kinds of fucked up.  Indeed she is the cautionary tale that keeps on giving.  Aeons from now (yes I know an aeon is an indefinite amount of time, and therefor cannot be plural) mothers will be telling their children that if they don’t eat...

Open Letter
Dear Sir, Given recent events, I think it only fair that I explain myself. It’s true that I left your crew with a scant 10 hours notice, an act that was not very courteous. However, given the mountain of shit that I had to climb over to even come close to being in your good graces, and the injustice I faced once at the top of said mountain; I feel my actions were more than justified. To give...

I'm Back Baby!
Ok so I totally apologize for being so absent for the last three weeks.  I started work again on a cruise ship.  To make a very long, and stupid story short, they treated me like crap, and actually told me I’d have to be less gay if I ever wanted to be promoted.  Soooo I quit.  I am lucky in that I’ve had two job offers already, even in a declining market.  Anyway the job I have taken,...

Hey all you Tumblrites! Sorry for the utter lack of posts. I’ve returned to work on a cruise ship. I’m very glad, and lucky to have work, but dissapointed that I will be away from Tumblr so often, and so long. I’ll try to write a bunch of posts in the next few days, and que them up so my tumblog won’t be totally barren, and I will supplement those posts with posts like...

Know Where You Stand: Activist Judges Edition
This post was inspired by Sandra Day O’Connor’s recent appearance on “The Daily Show”.  Justice O’Connor is building a website to explain the Judicial branch of government, which I will now try to do to the best of my ability. Often the phrase “Activist Judges” is thrown around by pundits of both the Conservative and Liberal movements.  To put it honestly...

Gay Politician Spotlight: Hadrian
Publius Aelius Hadrianus more commonly known as Hadrian was the adopted son, and successor of Trajan.  Hadrian ruled from 117AD to 138AD, is the third of the “Five Good Emperors of Rome.” His succession was of some question, as his adopted father never officially designated Hadrian as his succesor.  It was Trajan’s wife, Pompeia Plotina who used her power as the First Lady of...

Gay Politician Spotlight: Trajan
Marcus Ulpius Nerva Traianus, commonly known in the West as Trajan, was the second in line of the “Five Good Emperors” of Rome.  He ruled from 98AD to 117AD, and was beloved of the Roman people, such that they built him a colossal column in Rome that stands today! We know that Trajan engaged in relationships with other men from numerous accounts, but most famously the words of famed...

Washingtonians Take Heed!
March 12th is the last day for the Washington State Legislature to vote on respective bills that would expand the rights of Domestic Partnership to those of Marriage.  Things are heating up, and loads of lies are coming out of the East Side.  We NEED to contact our Senators and Representatives and urge them to pass this bill.  Even though it’s not full marriage equality, it will pave the way...

Gay Cousin
So my gay cousin got his mission papers today.  For those of you unaware, that means he’ll be going on a mormon mission within the next 90 days.  Of course this is a concern for me because well… he’s a big queer.  I’m not exactly sure what I’m supposed to do in this situation.  From my view, it behooves me to ask him to consider his sexuality.  It would suck major...

LDS now wants to shut down civil unions in IL →
notthatkindagay: jeffcagle: The LDS, which has been stinging since the evidence of their interference with the constitution of CA came to light, is now trying to keep a proposal for sanctioned civil unions for same sex couples in Illinois from getting out of committee and coming to a vote. There isn’t much time but if people who live in IL will speak up they may be prevented from using the...
